Weekly Walks

Looking for the 2020 Weekly walks schedule? Here it is!

At Kit’s Coty on New Year’s Day 2020. Peter Goodhew is third from left in the fetching hat. Jerry Whitmarsh fifth from left in the cap..

Linton’s weekly walks have become more and more popular over the years and the number of walks has steadily grown. For 2020 we have almost 70 weekly walks, in two sets:

– a walk on Thursday mornings, starting at 11am (prompt!). The first walk in 2020 is on February 6th, and the last one is on November 26th. David Hill looks after the Thursday walks.

– a walk on Tuesday evenings, starting at 6 or 7pm, depending on daylight. The first walk in 2020 is on April 7th and the last one is on September 15th. Peter Goodhew looks after the Tuesday evening walks

The walks are easy to manage, are between 2 and 4 miles or so in length, and they seem to start and finish at a pub surprisingly often… they are designed for anyone, fitness should not be a problem and it is a walk, not a march. They are not only an opportunity to take some healthy exercise, they are also a social event with up to 40 people or more taking part in summer. They take in all the countryside in and around Linton, private land as well as public footpaths, and they will show you just how beautiful the countryside we live in is, as well as showing you places that cannot be reached or appreciated any other way. Do come! You will be made very welcome.

Either email David Hill, or contact him on 01622 671911, or just come along to any walk. More details, and a schedule of all of the walks, can be accessed here. In addition there is a map showing the starting point for all of the walks, available here.

Dogs – we love dogs, and they are very welcome. They must be kept on leads around livestock and on all public roads… supervised children are also welcome.

Don’t forget we do longer walks on the first Sunday of each month as well
