Supporting everyone in Linton during Covid-19
Parish Councillor Julie Urquhart is coordinating the volunteer effort to support those in need of help during the Covid-19 outbreak. We are working with the Maidstone Borough Council Community Hub team to provide support to local residents in the parish. All Linton households should have received a leaflet a couple of weeks ago with Julie’s contact details. Even if you don’t need help right now, keep these details to hand in case you require help in the coming weeks. They are copied below.
We can support those in need with the following: grocery shopping, collecting prescriptions, medication or other essential supplies, and keep-in-touch phone calls. We are also able to help medical staff and other key workers if they are in need of help with grocery shopping etc.

If you are able to volunteer to help those who are self-isolating, please get in touch and we will add you to our list of volunteers. While we are currently able to cope with the demand for assistance, we anticipate this will increase, so if you’re able to help it will be much needed over the coming weeks. We know that lots of residents are already helping their neighbours and family members, so just a few reminders on staying safe while supporting others:
- Only volunteer if you are well enough and not self-isolating or in a high-risk group yourself.
- Wash your hands for 20 seconds both before and after going out on errands.
- Stay at least two metres away from the people you’re helping.
- Do not enter people’s homes.
