Linton Has A New PCSO…

…well, we have part of one, at least. Jasmine Pay has now taken up her duties as Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for Coxheath, Linton, Hunton and the Farleighs.

As a PCSO, her job (it says here) is to provide a visible uniformed patrol presence in order to provide public reassurance and to assist in the prevention and reduction of incidents of crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour, thus promoting community safety and impacting on the fear of crime.
PCSOs are an effective community information and intelligence resource and will be used in support of Neighbourhood Watch activity and local Crime Reduction Initiatives.

PCSOs don’t have the full powers of a regular police officer, but they do have some limited enforcement powers, such as:

  • To issue Fixed Penalty Notices for dog fouling, littering and cycling on the footpath
  • To request the name and address of a person acting in an anti social manner
  • To request a person to stop drinking in a designated public area and to surrender open containers of alcohol
  • To confiscate alcohol from young persons

.. and so forth.

So, welcome Jasmine! Please stop and say hello if you see her around Linton. If you need to you can contact her, as follows:

Via Email or by telephone via Kent Police, on 101 or on 01622 690690

You can also contact the police online to report things like graffiti, fly-tipping and similar nuisances
