Linton Hill Roadworks

Notification of major gas works: A229 Linton Hill, Linton

The following has been received from Southern Gas Networks Ltd:

We’re writing to make you aware of our forthcoming upgrade of our gas network in Linton Hill, Linton. Our project involves the essential replacement of old metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure we continue to provide a safe and reliable gas supply to the local area. Our contractor Forefront will undertake this work on our behalf.
So, that we can minimise the impact of our essential work, we have carefully consulted and planned our works in partnership with Kent County Council, our project will start on Wednesday 01 August 2018 and lasting approximately eight weeks.
To ensure everyone’s safety around our work area, we’ll need to install temporary traffic lights in Linton Hill south of St Nicholas’s Church. During this time, we’ll be working extended hours, Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm to minimise disruption to the local community.
We understand that roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, Linton residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Kind regards
