Dear Linton residents,

Do you know someone locally who could spare a couple of hours a day?

The Hunton village school crossing patroller fills a rewarding and dangerous job of ensuring the safety of children crossing West Street in the morning and afternoons. The position has been vacant since September 2019.

Child pedestrians are one of the most vulnerable road users. According to government statistics, around 72% of road traffic accidents involve children crossing busy streets. With most accidents happening  between 8 am and 8.59 am or 3 pm and 6:59 pm

So we really need your help to find a responsible, community-minded, local hero who doesn’t mind working with children.

This is a paid position and uniform, full training with support will be provided by KCC Safety Mobility Team.

Do you know someone locally who could spare 30 mins in the morning and 30 mins in the afternoon, during school term time?

The KCC Safety Mobility Team Leader personally met with parents and explained the challenges finding the ‘right person’ so we’re reaching out to our community for help.

Can you help by thinking of someone who might like to become the school crossing patrol.. perhaps a family member, a friend, a neighbour or maybe yourself?

If you know someone locally who could spare a couple of hours a week please encourage them to come forward and apply.
